New week, nothing new!!!

Well, a new week has started, and I am still behind in my class. I took the SLLA Saturday, so between finishing the school year and studying for that BIG test, I have not done a lot of work as I should have.

On a better note, this weekend, I have been very busy in my class. I have read chapters 1-4, and I am currently working on my assignments for those chapters to be caught up to my pacing guide. Sometimes I wonder why I am so enthusiastic and always plan too much for myself?? Then I remember why I have been so succesful in my life and career...because I am a go-getter with great work ethic!!

Ok, so chapter one deals with the question...What is curriculum? Ultimately, curriculum is a plan or program for all the learning experiences and encounters a student attains through their educational career at a school. Often, curriculum and instruction are thought to be the same thing. However, one way to distinguish between the two is curriculum is the what and instruction is the how(From the text!)

Chapter two discusses how curriculum is developed. The ten axioms of C.D. are  discussed extensively in this chapter and guide the reader through developing curriculum, while keeping in mind that changes in society, the school, the community, and other things can affect the curriculum and cause changes to need to be made.

Chapter three describes the levels and sectors of Cussiculum planning, as well as patterns of organization at the school and school district levels. Chapter 4 discusses the roles of various school staff and employees in curriculum development and planning, as well as the skills and knowledge needed to be a strong curriculum leader. Communication skills, decision making skills, strong interpersonal relationships, leadership skills, and dealing with change are skills essential in being a strong leader in schools and in curriculum change and development.

Now back to the individual assignments and quizzes....HEY, Who moved my cheese..................???
